WHAT: Photo eyes send a beam across the driveway that are picked up by a sensor on the opposite side. The sensor detects interruptions in the beam.
WHY: Photo beams are generally used in two places on swing gates: right past where the gate(s) are closed and right past the end of the swing of the gate(s). On slide gates: right next to the gate. The beams are designed to be used much like on your garage door opener – if something breaks the beam while the gate opener is moving it will stop it from moving any further and causing damage.
WHAT: 5 Watt Solar Panel for solar powered systems WHY: Provides an alternative to traditional power sources, making it suitable for remote locations, money saving options, and energy saving options

WHAT: Proximity Cards will activate sensor, which in turn, engages the gate operator WHY: Convenient means of maintaining security, even with many users
WHAT: 10 Watt Solar Panel for solar powered systems WHY: Provides an alternative to traditional power sources, making it suitable for remote locations, money saving options, and energy saving options
WHAT: This is a wired or wireless keypad for entering a property. Features backlit buttons and a temporary delivery code.
WHY: This keypad is a simple but secure entering for guests. If someone pulled up to the property and has a 4-digit code they can open either the gate opener or a Bulldog pedestrian gate lock depending which device this is attached to.
WHAT: This is a wired in commercial style keypad for exiting a property. Features a top light that illuminates entire face, durable housing, secure key-locked interior and wired installation to multiple devices. Available with a built in receiver.
WHY: This would be a commercial choice for property exiting. If your have a parking area near the gate or other activities that may trip an auto-exit device unintentionally or if you are looking for a high level of security then a keypad to exit is a great choice.
WHAT: 20 Watt Solar Panel for solar powered systems WHY: Provides an alternative to traditional power sources, making it suitable for remote locations, money saving options, and energy saving options
WHAT: Gate opener remote WHY: Allows remote operation of gate; open the gate with a push of the button while driving up to it, or from inside the home. Multiple button options allows control over several devices with one remote
WHAT: Automatic Gate Lock WHY: Prevents the gate from being forced open while protecting the gate opener and provides convenience with its automatic unlocking and relocking functions
WHAT: This is a commercial style keypad that can be used wirelessly for exiting when you have a RE-1, RE-2, or AKR-1 as your entry keypad.
WHY: If you have one of the above products this eliminates the need for wiring the exiting keypad if it is within 250 foot range in line-of-sight conditions.
WHAT: This is a device that goes on the side of the battery(ies) and is powered through the transformer to keep the battery warm. WHY: Cold weather lessens the output of batteries, which can impact gate operator functioning.
WHAT: Reflective Photo Eyes WHY: These photo eyes can be set to prevent the gate from operating when there is an obstruction in the way of the gate opening or closing
WHAT: Exit wand that detects metallic objects WHY: Allows convenient, no hassle exit of property. As the vehicle moves toward the gate, the opener is engaged and the gate opens.
WHAT: Extended range Secondary receiver for remote devices WHY: The extended range receiver is ideal for long distance operation of the gate (such as with a long driveway), or areas with poor radio reception. Can increase range to 1500' in the best conditions.
WHAT: Universal remote with 1-3 button option WHY: The Universal remote is compatible with many electric devices such as garage door openers, gate openers, etc. The multi-button options allow the user to control several devices with one remote

WHAT: 5, 10, or 20 Watt Solar Panel for solar powered systems WHY: Provides an alternative to traditional power sources, making it suitable for remote locations, money saving options, and energy saving options
WHAT: Photo eye and exit/entry wand combination; senses incoming vehicles and engages gate Why: To allow convenient entry to property; not a security feature
WHAT: Reflective photo eye WHY: When the photo eye detects an obstruction, it can engage the gate opener, or, as a safety device, it can prevent operation of the gate opener
WHAT: This is a surge protector that goes between the transformer and the outlet. WHY: It helps to prevent surges from the electric circuitry of the house from blowing the transformer and the control board of the gate opener.
WHAT: This is a surge suppressor that interrupts surges right before they reach the control board. WHY: This helps to protect against incoming surges from transient voltages during storms and from other surges. Any line that runs underground to the control board could be a source for transient voltage and could be protected by this protector before it reaches the board.
WHAT: Wireless infrared sensors WHY: Prevents the gate operator from closing the gate when an obstacle is detected; engages operator to open gate for no hassle exit
WHAT: This is a wired in commercial style keypad for entering a property. Features a top light that illuminates entire face, durable housing, secure key-locked interior and wired installation to multiple devices. Available with a built in receiver.
WHY: This would be a commercial choice for property entering. If you need many codes or you need some codes to open one gate while other codes open another gate this would be able to handle two devices from a single keypad.
WHAT: This is a commercial style keypad that can be used wirelessly for entering when you have an AKR-1 as your exiting keypad or an AP-4 as a secondary receiver.
WHY Some people may not be able to wire a commercial style keypad outside their property so they choose to use one the above devices on the inside and use this unit wirelessly on the outside. The other advantage of wireless operation outside the gate is the security of having no wires leading to the opening circuit of the gate opener.
WHAT: This is low voltage, direct burial wire. WHY: This would be used to connect the transformer to the control board to keep the batteries charged on the gate opener. It can also be used to wire in accessories.
WHAT: An intercom system for secure entry with up to 125 codes WHY: The intercom system will directly dial residents' home phones so they can allow entry for guests, and the code entry is perfect for multi-unit residences.
WHAT: Mini remote control for gate opener WHY: This mini remote is ideal for remote operation of a gate from smaller vehicle like a motorcycle, or by a pedestrian
WHAT: The entry wand is an electromagnetic sensor that detects metal mass in motion providing a 12 foot radius of detection that allows hands free exit from the property. Available with 50' (FM139), 100' (FM140), or 150" (FM141) of lead wire.
WHY: This would be for automatic entering of cars for decorative gates or deer gates – provides no security. As a car drives up the driveway towards the gate the moving metal disturbs the electromagnetic field and the gate opens. The different lengths of wire are so you can put it back as far out from the gate as you have room to, the further out it is the better the detection it will be and the less the car will have to slow down to wait for the gate to open. (you cannot splice more wire on to the existing wire)
WHAT: Remotes for the Long Range Receiver Pack WHY: Additional remotes can be useful for multi-person residences, or for remote opening from a variety of locations within the home
WHAT: This wired/wireless intercom and keypad is ideal for any residential application, and is programmed to recognize 100 different entry codes. This product supports up to three additional base stations for multiple room access. Use wireless or wired from keypad to gate opener. Use wireless from keypad to indoor base station with a max distance of 500 ft.
